Account Manager
Location: Leeds (office-based - 3 days a week)
Salary: up to £35K (DOE)
Are you ready to make an impact in the fast-paced world of cybersecurity? Cognisys is growing rapidly, and we’re looking for a dedicated Account Manager to join our Account Management team during this exciting period of innovation and expansion.
Cognisys is a leading cybersecurity company specialising in Penetration Testing, GRC Consulting, and Managed Security services. We take pride in our customer service, forward-thinking approach, and commitment to excellence. Our small but mighty team collaborates with some of the world’s best-known companies and operates across over 30 countries worldwide.
About the Role
Our existing business sales team is vital to delivering exceptional service and customised cybersecurity solutions to our long-term clients. By fostering strong relationships and helping clients navigate ever-evolving threats and compliance challenges, we empower them to stay secure and ahead of the curve.
We’re looking for someone with sales DNA. Ideally, with previous experience as a business development rep or in a new business-facing role. While we look after existing business, that background helps ensure you're confident guiding commercial conversations and spotting where we can add real value.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, customer-focused professional to contribute to our mission of driving growth and ensuring client satisfaction.
As an Account Manager, you will work closely with our existing clients to:
• Support renewals
• Identify growth opportunities
• Maintain trusted, long-term partnerships
This position offers an excellent opportunity to refine your client management, sales, and cybersecurity skills, all while being part of a high-performing and supportive team. At the same time, contributing to Cognisys’ ongoing success.
What You’ll Do
• Client Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with your portfolio of Cognisys clients, acting as a reliable day-to-day point of contact.
• Account Planning Support – Contribute to account planning discussions and help align our solutions with client needs and priorities, preparing insights and recommendations for client conversations.
• Account Development – Support account growth by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities and working with senior team members to progress expansion plans.
• Commercial Support & Renewals – Manage and support contract renewals and extensions, helping ensure a smooth process and coordinating with internal teams where required.
• Client Engagement & Coordination – Work closely with internal consultants and project managers to ensure the successful delivery of services and a positive client experience.
• Relationship Building – Build effective working relationships with key client stakeholders and maintain regular engagement to understand evolving needs.
• Operational Delivery – Help ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery by coordinating activities, tracking actions, and escalating risks or issues when needed.
• Reporting & CRM Management – Maintain accurate CRM records, track client interactions and opportunities, and provide timely updates on account activity and pipeline.
Requirements
• 3–5 years of experience managing client relationships or accounts, ideally within cybersecurity or SaaS environments.
• Experience supporting account growth and client retention within an existing customer base.
• Comfortable identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities and working to develop them with support.
• Able to manage client opportunities from early discovery through to proposal and close, with appropriate support and collaboration.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Project Management and Technical Consultant teams to deliver a positive client experience.
• Proactive and reliable, with a positive, solutions-focused approach to client needs and changing priorities.
• High attention to detail when managing contracts, renewals, and client communications.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a practical way.
• Hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in our office.
If you think you can deliver but don’t match the criteria above, please don’t be put off. We are very open-minded and focus on ability and attitude above skills.
