Cognisys is a leading Cyber Security company specialising in Penetration Testing, GRC Consulting, and Managed Security services. About the Role
As our Human Resources Manager, you will oversee the entire HR function and ensure the team provides high-quality service. This role offers variety and challenges, with the opportunity to support Employee Relations, Recruitment, Learning and development, Employee Engagement, and more.
We are looking for an individual who can maintain the strong delivery of our people programmes and provide tactical input into people-related decisions so that they align with Cognisys's strategic direction. As we enter a rapid growth stage, we are looking for someone who gets excited about recruiting and integrating new team members and who loves ensuring that our HR and People programmes, policies, and processes are understood and embraced.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all HR administration and people programs across the employee lifecycle, driving continuous improvement in processes and systems
- Manage the onboarding process, including preparing materials, conducting induction sessions, and ensuring onboarding checklists are competed
- Administer the performance management cycle; plan appraisal timelines and support employees and managers with completing their appraisals and evaluations
- Oversee the salary review process and advise on salary adjustment decisions
- Ensure day-to-day HR administrative tasks are completed on time and accurately, including maintaining employee contracts, sickness & absence, and training records
- Maximise the accurate and efficient use of HRIS systems
Strategic Guidance & Support
- Partner with leadership to deliver key projects that align with the people strategy
- Provide strategic advice on employment law, industry trends, and internal policies to inform decision-making
- Analyse data related to the employee lifecycle to support workforce planning and organisational growth
- Design, implement, and analyse employee engagement surveys to enhance satisfaction and identify areas for improvement
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers on policy and program-related queries, offering practical solutions across the employee lifecycle
Compliance & Policy Management
- Regularly review and update HR policies and the employee handbook to ensure compliance with employment laws and alignment with company values
- Ensure employee files and HR data are up-to-date, accurate and legally compliant, enhancing systems and processes as needed
- Review and implement best practices to promote fairness and consistency across the business
- Support resolution of employee relations matters and recommend strategies to mitigate potential risks
Talent Development & Engagement
- Partner with leadership and managers to design learning and development plans that foster high-performance and succession planning
- Research and implement training opportunities to enhance team capabilities and professional growth
- Equip managers with the tools and resources to coach and develop their teams effectively
Requirements
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in HR generalist and employee relations role
- Proven experience managing an HR function with a globally distributed team
- A track record in leading change management initiatives and developing HR policies
- Strong experience in managing employee engagement and driving a positive workplace culture
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organisation
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Proactive in identifying HR trends and changes in employment law, with the ability to react swiftly and provide strategic advice
